OKC Zoo, January 2014.
One of the best/worst parts of OKC is the weather. In a 10-day period, temperatures may bounce from below zero to well above zero--as evidenced here, during a January trip to the zoo when the temperature reached a reported 75 degrees. Nice that this upswing coincided with the weekend, unfortunate that it always also seems to bring increased allergy woes, high winds and fire warnings.
I may not have been very chatty here lately, but that doesn't mean I've been silenced. Just regrouping, I guess? I bounced over to my friend Brandi's blog for a winter soup potluck, sharing my recipe for French onion soup and a few stories from our trip to France, taken just before we relocated from Germany to Oklahoma. And I had a great, big bowl of soup for dinner after the zoo on Sunday. But first, stopped by Whole Foods for some awesome bread and cheese to accompany it, sipped a nice glass of wine with my dinner. What a fantastic way to top off a lovely day.
