Cheese! Glorious Cheese

So, this is not a spoiler alert: I love cheese. I love cheese at all my meals and at all my snacks and in between my meals and snacks. This is also not a spoiler alert: eating copious volumes of cheese is not a great way to stay healthy.

Sigh.

However, as a member of Influenster, I was recently asked if I would like to receive a Vox Box from Sargento. Of Wisconson. The cheese makers.

Um...

YES!

This was my first Vox Box and it came with a few coupons for cheese because sending cheese in the mail, especially to Oklahoma? Not necessarily a good idea. I used the coupons to purchase Sargentos Ultra Thin slices in Baby Swiss and Provolone... and then also grabbed the Sharp Cheddar and Cheddar-Jack because didn't I just mention cheese?

Here's what I love about this cheese: it has a lot of flavor but the slices are thin. All the flavor and fewer calories. So you can have your cheese and eat it too!

I've made plenty of recipes with the Sargentos Ultra Thin slices, and I think I'm going to try a flatbread pizza with the Provolone, sliced tomatoes and fresh basil--doesn't that sound good? I may also give the breakfast sandwiches a whirl--fry an egg, top with a slice of Ultra Thin Sharp Cheddar (which melts really fast). I'm going to try mine on toasted thin sandwich rounds with some spinach.

Here are a few of my recipe ideas, easy meals from a week where I didn't have a lot of time to spare. I hope you get inspired to get some Sargentos Ultra Thin of your own!

Roast beef pita sandwich with baby greens and Baby Swiss.
Just add fruit to round out a meal!

A "nothing sounds good for dinner" dinner with Ultra Thin Provolone,
salami and crackers paired with spicy pickles and pears.

Field trip day lunch! Ultra Thin Provolone and salami with
baby greens on sandwich rounds. Throw in a bag of veggies &
it's all good. Don't forget the chips!

Rainy day omelet breakfast: eggs and spinach
with Ultra Thin Baby Swiss and Cheddar. Oranges for sweetness
and coffee out of necessity!

  1. Oh, you're such a Wisconsin girl! You must know your cheese. I'm going to have to try some. My daughter is fueled primarily on cheese. She doesn't care for sandwiches, but the selection with crackers is totally her style. Thanks!

  2. I love the ultra thin slices, They feel so fancy. I especially love them melted in a pita w/ the good deli meat. Non of that prepackaged deli meat for my fancy thin cheese.

  3. Cheese is usually yellow, orange or white. As are wax beans, sweet potatoes and cauliflower. See where I'm going here? Cheese is obviously a vegetable-cousin. Which means we SHOULD be eating it at every meal. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
