Also, I've been doing the #NABLOPOMO for 20 days now (except weekends), and that's a lot of writing about myself. I mean, I'm as shallow and self-centered as the next person, but that's a lot of introspection.
So, let's just talk about what makes us happy, shall we? Here's my list.
I'm loving how each story is introduced with a little note from King, which makes it really personal.
It goes with EVERYTHING. I wear it with T-shirts, with short sleeves, with long sleeves, with scarves, with skirts, with boots, with flats, with Capri pants and even with pajama pants when I have a hot date with my sofa and a glass of wine.
I'm wearing it right now.
I adore it. It's on sale right now for under $20 here.
This musicMissy Elliot's Where They From, satanic puppets or no (conspiracy theory alert), this song is awesome.
Drenge, We Can Do What We Want. Currently in heavy rotation. These dudes are awesome.
This projectListen to Your Mother. I'll be talking about this one for a while, non-stop! I've been involved in this project in OKC since 2013 and thrilled to be continuing with it. Read all about it here. I've talked about it a lot, so you're probably familiar with it. My husband and I have been competitive over whose video has the most views, and he's just a few shy of 300 (while I'm about half of that), so if you could do me a proper and watch his video. I'll give him those bragging rights. He's celebrating the sacrifices of military moms, which I love.
Also making me happy (in no particular order):Good people. Bacon. Coffee. My dog (even though she's worse than a toddler and won't give me 2 minutes peace). My children. Jimmy John's turkey subs. Teavana Jade citrus-mint green tea (even though I can't figure out how to do the looseleaf tea without getting tea leaves in my teeth).
Today's NABLOPOMO prompt is: What do you hope happens by the end of this year?
I hope we have a lovely, big, fluffy snow that doesn't cause icy roads. I hope I receive a case of Apothic Dark wine from a benevolent wine fairy. I hope my children enjoy their last weeks at this school and go into their new school with happiness and confidence. I hope my dog stops chewing on me. I hope compassion is in the front of all of our minds.
Not too much to ask for, right?
