It's back to school! Back to school! [yawn] back to school. Yep.
Around here, that means waking up before the crack of dawn and shuttling them out the door to the bus before the sun comes up and that's about when I finish my first cup of coffee and try to wrap my head around the fact that I'm awake so early.
Too early for pictures of sunrises, I've devolved into taking pictures of my coffee cups.
I call this one "Wonder Woman Needs a Refill."
Back to school is great—the kids are thrilled (though they might tell you otherwise) to get the spend the day away, learning and doing and being independent and seeing their friends. I get to have time to clean the house and write and edit without interruptions every five minutes.
To the parents of toddlers, I hate to break it to you, but that pretty much never goes away. I still can't pee in peace.
Well, when they're at school, I can. But then the dog walks down the hall, heaves a sigh and sits so her paws stick under the crack in the door.
We pal around during the day, some days looking around the quiet house and counting down to when the kids come home and fill the house with their specific energy.
